“Silence Speaks” by Mary Morrissey

I heard a teaching story once, where a master says to his students, “What do the musician and the artist have in common with the mystic?” After intense thinking the students all give up and finally the master says, “The musician and the artist realize that the finest speech does not come from the tongue; it comes out of the silence.”

Today, may we incorporate a new listening of what the silence –speaking through nature, between the lines, between the sounds, even between the beats of our own heart –is saying to us.

In the silence, Life is everywhere present. It doesn’t require external silence. It requires a listening for the internal voice that is always with us, particularly the Universe’s love for us right here and right now.

Tune In To The Silence,

Mary Morrissey
