“Difference Maker” by Mary Morrissey

My son once asked me, “How do you get to be a guru?”

A guru is a Hindu term of high elevation of teaching and the ability to be a difference maker in people’s lives. This is similar to a reverend, a priest, or a rabbi.

There’s an interesting term for guru that I heard many years ago. This is the idea of discovering that there is a presence of God inside of us that we can turn to. We can actually have a personal guru –a personal connection to the great information system –the guidance and the support of the Universe.

Take the word guru and recognize the letters inside of it. G U R U. “Gee, you are you.”

God made you. God’s breathing you. You are a difference maker.

To The Difference You Can Make,
